what was the cause of current conflict and hostility between japan and china ,but not between south korea and china or japan and south korea. im reading history to. understand the geopolitical hostility between China and japan the root cause was the Japanese militaryy occupation and massacre of chinese for which the right wing nationalists enshrine as war heros,the propaganda by japanese textbook to downplay the severity of war crimes In the early 20th century,many young chinese students went to japan to study and lived there.Reformers like chiang kai shek and sun yat sen lived and studied in japan. there they were exposed to modernisation of meiji reformers.japan was the only asian nation to achieve developed nation status and joined the G7 group.it was the earliest asian nation to catch up with progressive reforms in education,revamp military ,and industrialization and economic reforms so much so that they could defeat a western nation in the russia japanese war,conquered china and south east asia and south korea and emboldened to attack pearl harbour in the US. At that period of time china was a weak nation under imperial qing. dynasty rule,had to handover territories to western and japanese occupiers.later embroiled in a civil war that further weakened the state and a closed door isolationist policy that hindered modernization and cut off from the global trade,china regressed while japan progressed rapidly.now China is catching up with japan in dominating the export market and technological advancements from EV,robotics.drone AI ,green energy and the rivalry is causing hostility to arise. china is following the path to modernization led by japan.in emphasizing a strong cultural identity,conservation of ecological resources,strengthening military,increase economic competitiveness,strengthen educational and R n D development and heritage preservation besides energy and food security.to keep up its global commitments by being proactive in united nations and wto and green and sustainable policies.its engaging with developing nations by building infrastructure and economic resilience by strengthening yuan bilateral trade. with the US disengaging from the global institutions and alienating allies,the hegemony of the US is destabilizing global order. the animosity with japan should be.handled with care to avoid geopolitical tensions that threatens to destabilize asias progress.the call for solidarity and unity of a pan Asian identity is crucial for the advancement of both nations and the peaceful coexistence of people to people ties be strengthened thats the meaning of constructive strategic stability.
