Celebrated juns birthday

celebrated Juns birthday twice.once with family members especially blind elder sister who used to teach him English phonics n grammar when he was small.She enjoys dining out at Japanese outlets so i treated both to Sushi Zenmai as it was affordable.so crowded on a weekend as now Malay diners and even Indians like to eat healthy foreign cuisine like yakitori n sushi n sashimi.There was a long queue at Shin Zushi in SS 2 and no reservation is accepted so its a long wait outside the restaurant and they have a strictly one hour dining in timeperiod that i hate as i eat at leisurely pace and need to serve my blind elder sister to peel prawns.Sushi Mentai is good but lacks dessert menu.Robaitaya is my old

favourite but now too expensive on my limited budget. i bought varied cupcakes for a birthday cake and the next day i baked a tiramisu cake with raisins n prunes topped with cream cheese frosting n marshmellows as we celebrated with my zumba tribe who gifted Jun a sports baseball cap.i think ive found my tribe of fun loving seniors as they drank yum seng so loudly that the noise could wake up the dead.We love food,fashion and fun so i had a great time.

SMK Sri Istana Reunion Nite saw intergenerational bonding.Many of them are parents and some brought along adult children to the event.ive taught older and younger siblings studying at same school.How fast time flies as i look at the old yearbooks and class photos.

Shocking South Korea plunged into martial law overnight.How different is that from the coup d etat when Prayut overturned a civilian chosen government and used the military to seize power from the ballot box.How different is it from Myanmar when the junta overthrew a democratically elected government and usurped the power of the people. When the much touted "stability" to the state is a pretext to use the military to silence critics or hide incompetency in governance,the world stands and wait to watch how the drama unfolds. Yes democracy is chaotic for it presumes the right to disagree so the right to voice out is one of the fundamental pillars of democracy.The first victim in a conflict is truth.So if the government is open and transparent,what is there to fear and hide? Would be autocrats that fear people questioning their powers will start by muzzlimg the media,then use force of military to suspend the legislative and judiciary before clamping down on street protesters. So if France opposition passes a vote of no confidence in the governance of its prime minister,its a peaceful way to kick out an underperforming leader rather than declaring a martial law and overturning the rule of law.So France is showing civil rights triumph over political elites.Compared to South Korea,Thailand and Myanmar that show signs of failing democracy.
