i love the fresh lychee imported from China i cant resist the sweet juicy flesh and small seed of fei zi xiao with jade green and red skin.i remembered when in the late 1980s when i visited Guangdong village of xiyap yunpeng county,my relatives bought lo mai chee or glutinous rice lychee that had deep red skin,juicy flesh and small seed. now with cold storage logistics supply chain,i get to feast on juicy lychees in summer no wonder the chinese emperor pampered his concubine yang gui fei so that he ordered couriers to send her favourite lychee up north to Beijing for her to savour her craving.thats why its name is fei zi xiao.noe with train and canal links established between southeastasia and south china the chinese can enjoy durians while we feast on lychees n mandarin oranges.

Festive lunar new year

went to the mall to watch a lion dance.had sleepless nite on 8th day as they celebrate hokkien bai tian gong with playing fire crackers at nite using sugar cane to pray.i had breakfast treat at the kopi tiam with my exercise buddies and kopi tiam miam yang was really doing a roaring business with 5 shoplots and over 18 food stalls in a clean n hygienic kopi tiam. have lunch of chinese fine dining at subang parade with ex varsity mates .fun getogether after leaving varsity a long time ago to catch up with our lives.

Multicultural Malaysia

i would like to share a one Malaysia story.My son,a typical Chinese called a ehailing ride to his Malay mechanic workshop in Batu Caves.the e haling driver was a middle aged Tamil Indian who spoke fluent cantonese to my son.Hr grew up in a Chinese village in Salak South where he picked up Chinese language.When he reached the workshop my son spoke in Malay to the Malay mechanic to his surprise the Malay mechanic converse in fluent Tamil indian to the indian ehailing driver as he grew up in Batu Caves surrounded by indian neighbours.so when we learn each others language and celebrate open house for festivals we are richer in embracing multiculturalism and dont see ourselves based on skin colour but as one Malaysians.

i skipped going to ctowded market fair foor lunar new year shopping.went to community mall to buy spring vegetables,mini abalone in truffle sauce,red strawrberries from Egypt,pork tenderloin and shrimps. it. lacks the festive mood of willowpussy,crysanthemum.chinese waxed duck ,fireworks and new year snacks like love letters.but i neednt tire myself out .n

Review of china's mini C drama

Chinas mini C drama lacks creativity as its too brief to develop a plausible plot and character.The flat characters run on stereotypical plot of poor girl falling in love with secret ceo or president rich man.the girl from the village is portrayed as uneducated but with high moral values while the urban colleagues have superiority complex and looks down on village girls as lacking social etiquette,vulgar,greedy and crude. the stereotypical flaws in character makes for a cinderella plotline with fairy tale ending.the ability to bear children is touted as a virtue of the heroine. i prefer independent movies by directors who capture social realism and remain true to stagecraft instead of quick to make money short dramas.the urban residents are portrayed as shallow and scheming maniipultors while the village girl is simple and naive. its time the censorship board stop misperceptions of urban rural dichotomy.the country bumpkins lack manners and are loud and crude,likely to litter,spit everywhere,jaywalk or dont flush public toilet,smoke at non smoking zone while the city dweller is educated,sophisticated,use English or french,dress in branded clothes and dine in western cafes, this misconception ignores the reality that urban dwellers depend on food grown by rural workers and their houses are constructed by migrant labour from the villages.the city dweller. symbolise mental work of knowledge worker but the rural worker represent physical labour. the dichotomy betweeen mental and physical labour results in unequal salary and reward system. but social media is a good equaliser.through vloggers and live streaming urban dwellers get to understand how people in rural aeas live daily lives.like li zi qi and rose and anzai offer us a glimpse of rural lives.what they need is to have adult classes and access to library and reading clubs to imrove mentally.Ecotourism and homestays also sre areas to develop financial security the urban dwellers lack physical. exertion and goes to the gym to workout.they also feel lonely and lack the communal spirit of villages.perhaps social clubs and neighbourhood centres can be set up to lessen social isolation.with the advent of technology,the dichotomy between urban n rural dwellers can be over come and the dichotomy between mental and physical work be reduced. so there is a fairer distribution of skills and talent.vloggers like tina xixi show case lifestyle of urban bicultural families while rose and anzai showcase daily lives of mixed race families in rural China.both African wives are fluent mandarin speakers ,great in culinary chinese cooking and have friends of chinese background. the rise of mixed marriages is a sign of open mindedness to tolerance and diversity of multilateralism unlike the xenophobic views of neighbouring east asian nations. .

the chinese kopi tiam in my condo decorated the cafe with colouful red lanterns.thry wereselling new year cookies,dried meat floss n grilled meat. then ourvietnamesefriend invited 8 ofus to dinner when she cooked a feast for Tet.we ate delicious belly pork cooked in coconut juice,salad with shrimp n chicken,braised chicken,soya bean pudding and drinks.we ended singing old songs on karaoke like teresa teñgs evergreen classic.we gifted a jelly ake to her n her hubby who were perfect hosts.
