My kitchen experiments with snowskin mooncakes filling n flavour caused me to put on weight.ive tested different flavours n fillings until i wont eat snowskin for the next 2 years.
The skin is too soft to eat fresh n must be chilled in fridge for 2 days.ive tried butterfly blue pea flower skin with shredded coconut in
buttermilk inspired by the famous Hong Kong cocktail buns.but i used a mixture of fresh grated young coconut flakes n dessicated coconut,butter,eggs,n coconut milk to get the taste right.it was awful when i used fresh grated old coconut with tough fibres.threw away that failed filling.the red rose syrup red bean is nice n fragrant.juns galpal liked the coconut milk skin with chocolate filling.i like the yellow osmanthus skin with pineapple filling.jun likes the purple yam skin with lotus gula melaka paste.my friend liked the jade skin with pandan lotus paste.i tried purple yam filling and japanese sweet potato filling but its too expensive for taro and japanese sweet potato..
