In the wake of construction boom, there were property developers catching the wave of huge profits to start projects everywhere but now the bust has seen abandoned towns and dead malls.
From the forest city to lembah beringin, ghost towns mushroomed in Malaysia and now with shopping malls being overbuilt to sell serviced condos,a lot of dead malls are built from abandoned malls in kedah to melaka to johor.
Can they be reconverted to affordable housing or schools or factories instead of massive loss of resources?
The building of superhigh rise in the city will worsen the glut of commercial space .
Has the relevant authorities drawn up a masterplan to revive these dead malls and ghost cities before approving new developments? Either the govt gives tax free incentives for investors to build factories and sme industries in these ghost cities to revive them or build good infrastructure and transport system for fast connectivity to ports and airport access or like China revive rural areas with tourism projects and agro industries or attract more malaysia my second home foreigners by building retirement homes, healthcare and golf courses in these ateas
