 Cold n damp but yipee i get the workout machines to myself unlike the jerk who hog the skiing machine forv2 hours yesterday.i love the rain as i get the place to myself.

There is a game called 101 ways to die where you cook up recipes for homicide.It challenges your creativity,cruelty and absolute lack of moral values to hatch up evil plans.

So the Hong Kong murder of the socialite butchered and dismembefed and cooked in a pot by her ex hubby and in laws give them a 100 per cent score of gory way to kill.Then how about the academician who put toxic gases in helium balloons in the family car,killing both wife and daughteWhat a pervert clown to fill a balloon with deadly gases unlike some balloons that have been falsely accused of spying on civilians and cause hysterical panic.At least its not filled with toxic agent orange defoliants or train carriages that explode with toxic chemicals.

Of course in our nation we remember the over ambitious politician who was butchered by a female bomoh or seer Mona Fandey or the gory dynamite to death of Mongolian model Altantuya.so we also can match the creative cruelty score of Hong Kongers and beat them in the game of death.

Baking breakfast

 I baked banana walnut muffins topped with cherry or blueberry n apple galettes.should have slicedcapples not cube them.

Create a bonsai landscape altar

 I frequently visit the plant nursery and garden centres in  jalan Sg Buloh Subang to check out new potted plants,buy fertilisers n get gardening tips.My favourite is Soon Lee nursery at Lot 21.Their garden designer has flair for matching plants with rocks and driftwood to create bonsai landscapes or fountains that look natural and really healthy well taken care of

flowering plants n trees.there is soothing instrumental music in the background as i browse for ideas.

Today i spent the whole Sumday baking banana muffins and create a bonsai landscape altar with a small maple tree,loose gravel,a huge red sandstone hill and some granite rocks with mini cacti

I think my gardening ideas has inspired my retired elderly neighbour to set up a clay bowl with colourful guppies and floating acquatic water lotus n hyacinth.its good to spread the gardening mood as its therapeutic working with plants.

I remembered my late mom had green fingers and spent hours using wires to twist the trunks of bonsai plants .She grew her own herbs n simple green vegetables and fruit like papaya,mango n banana n jackfruit.it kept her active and fit.in her 70s ,she was strong enough to chop down a rambutan tree.

I think im turning into a copy of.mom with my gardening and baking craze.shes a role model of ageing well,reading newspaper,baking and gardening and looking after 3 grandkids.

 We have a cool zumba instructor today with dreadlocks n cool shades.the dance was so fun and crazy.great sunny Sun day.

 WHAT is the message they are trying to get across to foreign nations by printing and distributing coptes of a holy book all over the world to promote peace and tolerance when the Proud Boys at home  showcase incitement to hate and  violence against non Muslims?

The world is watching the actions rather than believing the words as action speaks louder than words.Are they waging a holy war like the ISIS?Are they promoting the revival of the Crudesades when brute force and crude violence was used to propagate their religious zeal?Are we seeing the next 911 against  foreign nations like the deployment of trained suicide bombers to slsughter people of different faiths?

Why is there phobia and paranoia against certain faiths when they proudly showcase terror,violence and hatred?is this an example of a civilized society?

Brunch

 Weekend i steam the frozen bao n chicken in yellow rice wine,siu mai of chicken n finally n crystal dumpling shriìmp.its much cheaper than eating out at dim sum shop  that will cost me rm 24 as one plate of dim sum costs rm 6 to 7 nowadays.having a fruit salad with msian avocado,blueberry and mandarin from China.

Enjoy a feast but dont burn a hole in purse.

Last nite i cooked grilled chicken chop marinated in thai sweet chilli sauce n nampla with honey.a side of stewed potato,celery n carrot in mushroom sauce n a salad of avocado,mango n tomato.

I spent the whole evening meal prep as on Sunday i bake cakes,bread or muffins for next week breakfast n teatime.but i decided to steam a radish cake or cantonese loh bak go with dried scallop,chinese sausage,dried prawns n shitake mushroom n sweet preserved turnip.later ill put topping of fried shallots,dried prawns,scallions,red chilli n sesame seed.i love loh bak go sold at dim sum shops but mine has quality ingredients.i eat it with XO sauce.

I feel western bread n muffins has defeated traditional chinese breakfast like congee n yu tiao or yam n radish cakes n kuih talam.

Time to revive chinese traditional breakfast food.

Tonite i cooked rat tails noodle with minced chicken n shitake mushroom n bean sprouts n a sweet barley gingko n dried beancurd dessert.i added candied winter melon for crunch.

Mr DIY

 Staying in a condo has its pros like better security and facilities im used to like mini marts or cafes and swimming pool n gym.But there are neighbours from hell like Mr DIY on upper floor who does drilling n hammering at 10pm at night or throw rubbish onto swimming pool or bloody lifts that dont work.

Staying in a house,i get to do gardening but also get invasion of pests like rats n cockroaches i dont see in the condo.also i get more space by moving upstairs to the bedrooms whereas in the condo my bedroom is next to living room n i hear loud music being played with ear splitting stereosound or  not being able to own dogs or cats in condos.sigh we cant get everything we want in life so make the best of it.i am sorely tempted to buy the corgi but thetes no space in a condo for a dog.

Get real

 Those who are in state of denial wont solve problems.they deflect problems to others or have the defensive stance that its a non issue.

So can the Education minister explain how our education is on par with Singapore and Japan when in PISA rank in 2018 on high schools performance in reading,science n maths,China ranked first,Singapore second and Japan fourth.Whete was Malaysia,not even in top 30 as USA ranked 22nd n we at 48th or 49th,below South Korea n Vietnam.

We can lower pass marks at local exams but fail miserably at international exams.so no point shiok sendiri to say our substandard education is on par with Singapore n Japan.

Mother nature

 Needed to get out of the concrete jungle.its been a while since i went to hills n waterfalls n today is a sunny day .since the rainy season n landslide in batangkali,i check the weather forecast before i head to hills n waterfalls.it feels damn good to feel the breeze,hear gushing water n breathe crisp air.so rejuvenated.

As a society,we want the sternest punishment on drug traffickers but also address the root cause of drug addiction by young users.Poverty,peer influence,socio economic background,broken homes and so on need an integrated approach to solve it.

Public service

 Like the UKs, national health service,we are also facing a crisis in breakdown of public healthcare.whether it is inadequate beds in emergency service,overworked medical staff or shortage of specialists,the lack of planning and mismanagement by the ministry has resulted in poor public health services.we read horror stories of long wait at emergency or delays in getting treated or a psychiatric patient losing patience at long wait for admission and stabbing another dengue patient in the abdomen.

Whats the use of building the highest white elephants like merdeka 118 or TRX exchange at a time of oversupply of expensive commercial n residential real estate,when people cant afford decent housing.Money wasted on lavish architecture could be better used to improve healthcare or the education system with schools that ate dilapidated.Wastage of public funds results in poor public services and problems of flash floods or poor healthcare and education suffer from misappropriation and misallocation of funds for prestige projects.

RIP AnthonyT

 Its with deepest sympathy to the family of late Anthony T to know he has passed away due to illness.I used to read his writings in the srar newspaper as he was an ardent advocate for the disabled as he himself is a wheelchair user.he describes his faithful companion dogs who assisted him and how although in a wheelchair,he is a towering Malaysian who lobby the cityhall to build facilities like disabled parking bays,exercise equipment in public parks and improved accessibility ramps in public biiildings and tactile tiles on walkways for the blind.Now we see more toilets for disabled users so im thankful for his contribution to improve the quality of life for the disabled.a true anak Malaysia,kita hormat sumbangan ikhlas nya especially those accident victims or elderly people.They can go out in public and need not isolate from public life.

I bought a big pomelo.i ate a few slices.the rest

I used segments to make a thai pomelo salad for dinner with boiled shrimp,mock abalone slices,lime juice,nam pla,coriander leaves,bird eye chilli n roasted crushed peanuts.i love the piquant sourish salad.then some pimelo i made a sweet dessert like hong kong honeydew sago but i used pomelo,sago,basil seeds in rose syrup and coconut milk.the hong kong dessert of honeydew pomelo is a creative recipe from Hong Kong like snowskin mooncakes or bubble tea from Taiwan that uses huge sago.i prefer modern desserts to old fashioned red bean soup,barley gingko nut or black glutinous rice sweet soup.

Police

 How should we regard whats crucial in enforcing law and order in a society.in certain nations we get story of police brutality that discriminates against certain ethnic groups.

Or is the police force used to carry out the political agendas of politicians as seen in the abuse of our PM when he was imprisoned for trumped up charges.

Or is it religious and moral policing to check on courting couples, or those fashion policing of length of skirts and so on.

Its time our Law minister work to abolish unjust laws that criminalises attempted suicide.suicidal victims suffer from mental illness and should get medical treatment and not thrown into jail.some grow up in violently abusive homes,have addiction problems and poor living conditions.they need psychological services and social welfare to assist,not punishment by being jailed or fined.

I read how a police officer in China went beyond her duty to counsel a suicidal jobless man to live instead of ending his life and even offered food and help to send him to a friends house.the man later found a factory job and tried to locate the kind saviour who spent time encouraging  him.so suicide should be decriminalise to remove the social stigma that may cause them to be ocstracised by society.

 When we become parents ourselves,then only can we understand our parents concerns for us.

Why do Chinese patents push their children to settle down and get married.Its because in traditional society,women were homemakers while men were the breadwinners in a family,, so women needed a man to support her in life.secondly its having children to continue the bloodline and family lineage.but with education and career choices,women have more options to remain single and happy.

Parenting is a lifelong job you cant resign from unlike a career.the Chinese proverb says you will spend 99 years worrying over your child even if you live up to a hundred years.

So if you plan for a year,plant rice.

If you plan for 10 years,plant a tree

But if you plan for 100 years,educate children.

Thats why Chinese parents invest so much time and effort to educate their childten.

Looking at the racist remarks by young Malaysians, and their religious bigotry,you would think its the education system that breeds divisiveness and racial discrimination.When sports should be an avenue to unite,its become a place to harbour political or racial  ideology.But Mandela said if a child can be taught to hate,he or she can also learn to love.

If educators themselves do not promote inclusiveness in society,then they should be removed from the system before the minds of the young get f@#£ up.yeah we are breeding the next generation of the US version of The Proud Boys,disruptive rioters who resort to violence to overthrow the democratic process.

Have sports activities in schools that let childten of all races and social class interact and play together.dont let a single race dominate a sports.why cant an indian boy learn basketball or a chinese boy play football together?why cant females play football or males do cheerleading?

Have musical bands,art activities and team building that involve all races and be inclusive,not excluding those of lower social group,different races or political beliefs. Inculcate respect for diversity from young for shaping a united nation by a united government .

There is urgent need to revamp the education system from the bottom up.the ministry should set up online forums to get feedback from grassroot level and not make policies in a silo ivory tower.engage stakeholders like PAGE,industry experts n trade association on what kind of manpower is needed in future,expert experienced educationists like Dr. Syed Husin Ali,Dr Syed Ali Tawfik al Attas who talked on Malaysia needs proper leadership to overcome problems and Prof Mohd Tajuddin Rasdi who spoke on the new Msia ,issues and ideas in education and education is to be enlightened or stupid?

Finally get survey done on why students drop out or what makes them lose interest in learning?get the holistic picture because education has a long term impact on productivity and economic growth.
