Bhutanese blog

Visiting Bhutan was a childhood dream that came true.i loved the serenity of the place and deep spirituality of its people so i enjoyed reading the bhutanese academic Dorji Wangchuk's posts on life in Bhutan, and gained insights into his culture.

Like kyentse rinpoches movies, the narratives explore local myths n legends n offer me as a theravada buddhist an insight into vajrayana buddhism.

The Bhutanese are proud of their traditions and rituals.i appreciate their sharing of life stories as its  uniquely different but share common themes of hope, disappointment, challenges and aspirations.

Dorji Wangchuk lives an interesting life having worked as an engineer, broadcast fiĺm maker n an academic.he has travelled widely but still follows the practices of his faith.

Im glad that he appealed to the govt so that the daily visa entry fee be reduced for pilgrims from other nations like Nepal or Malaysia.

Im happy to note that Mahavihara is organizing pilgrimages to Sri Lanka and India.with the accompanying theravada monk,it will help us devotees deepen our faith on our spiritual path.i hope its an annual event as i would delay my pilgrimage until ive settled some personal issues and i would have the peace of mind to travel.
