 The heat is so stifling that I eat very light meals.for lunch I made a fruit salad with boiled shrimp in kewpie mayo yesterday.put in dark grapes from India,strawberries from Egypt,mixed vege a mango from Thailand.today I cooked pasta with chicken,broccoli n crab stick in cream of mushroom soup.

To cool off in the hot kitchen,I spray my face,neck n hands with a plastic sprayer I put in the fridge until it's ice cold.also make lots of ice cubes to put in coconut water.i have ulcers of the mouth as my throat is dry n parched in the heatwave.

 Ahli politiik guna kaedah divide and rule untuk mempengaruhi kuasa di bahagikan antara beberapa kumpulan.negara kita paling banyak cabaran untuk Bersatu Padu kerana jurang bukan  saja di antara sekular dan agama,tapi kaum ethnik berbeza, dan jurang socio economic antara T20,M40 dan B40.,govt linked Companies GLC dan SME.

 The pampered pussy has become a fussy pussy.he likes variety in his meals so his gourmet taste has him eating not just tuna or mackerel but salmon with crab roe,tuna with truffles or cod with egg yolk n fish with shirasu.

This cat lady now scavenge community dustbin for cardboard boxes for him to scratch or boxes he likes to play hide n seek inside.im now enslaved by feline wishes n do whatever to make him happy.with so many cat toys he now prefers running after n gobbling up cockroaches.gross cat.

 With temperature hitting 36 degree Celsius,I need to chill out at the swimming pool as it's sizzling hot indoors.but the small kids have the same idea but luckily they kept to the water slides to splash around.

I need to buy a new bottom soon at the H and M bargain sale as the blue one is getting loose due to washing machine spin dry.i wouldn't want to be caught with my bikini briefs drifting downwards when I'm swimming in a pool.horrors. I've been eyeing some nice designs.look at Liz Hurley who models her own designs at 59 years old.look at Christine Brinkley at 70 years old in a bright cherry red one piece and the bombshell is Martha Stewart at 81 years old with her alluring swimsuit for sports illustrated.how do these ageless goddess keep their bodies so fit?really inspiring to us Asians to keep ourselves healthy n fit.

Dream of European pastry

 There is now a trend of foodies switching from Japanese bread n pastry to European bread n pastry.i came across a patisserie that had a long queue of foodies waiting to sample fine European pastry.they were Millennials Gen Z young people who had good taste for fine dining it was mouth watering but my heart sank when I looked at prices on the menu.i knew I can't afford rm20+ for a strudel or mille feuille so I could only eat with my eyes.i could budget that money for fruit and vege.

But when there's a will there's a way.hope some talented home chef or pastry chef will kindly put up YouTube pastry tutorial on baking canele,strudel or tiramisu.ive learnt how to bake n enjoy quiche Lorraine,French yoghurt cake n cherry clafoutis.now it's time to learn other mouthwatering recipes.i can't afford to dine out at fancy well decorated hipster cafe but that doesn't stop me from baking my own fanciful pastry.apple strudel here I come

 Captain is feeling the heatwave afternoon temp hits 36 degree Celsius for 2 consecutive days.poor cat is feeling hot and hides under the flowerpots to take a nap.ive been eating fruit n salad as the heat spoils appetite.boiling cooling drinks like barley pumpkin and snow fungus winter melon to cool the body.

When technology married tradition=magnificent magic

 I'm a big fan of traditional culture preserved via modern technology.i treated myself n Jun to an immersive digital art exhibition at RexKL that was a real eye opening experience.it was music plus moving animation presented 360 degrees n viewers are mesmerised by the explosion of sound n sight.i feel that parents should bring their kids to see this digital shadow puppet show as Jun was awestruck and gasps of wow heard.i just wish that they put in a plot to tell a story but it was a collage of skeletons dancing,sword fights,emperor's n guard,trumpeting elephants n a kaleidoscope of colours that explode on the walls that I kept turning my head left n right.it was stunning visuals n very delicate puppets.kudos collaboration between China's temple of light and French Danny rose studio for performing in Kuala lumpur,an eye opening experience that will be staged until September.you won't regret that hour spent immersed in a digital art show.now why can't they stage puteri Gunung ledang or hang tuah in animated digital art with gamelan music.

 Tonite lots of firework as it's last day or 15th day of lunar new year.the moon was bright n luminous on this nite.captain kitty played with his cat wand ,a grey mouse.then I bought a new red snapping dragon that didn't rile him at all.the last toy a flashing lighted lion dance didn't interest him at all.but he was crazy to hug my slippers in the balcony and dragged it into his cage to play.give him toys and he doesn't give a hoot but play with my shoe and chased and killed a live cockroach.rascal frisky cat

How low can you go

 Will Msia go down the path of Sri Lanka when hyperinflation and  loss of export competitiveness caused food and fuel shortages for ordinary citizens.

Sri Lankan economic mismanagement under previous government caused nation to default on repayment of sovereign debt to international lenders.

Now Msia has to repay 1MDB loans to international lenders in US dollars when our ringgit has depreciated to its lowest level in 25 years.Apart from that,foreign investors are pulling out of Msian market looking at the poor financial legislations n lack of real reforms.this is worsened by cash handouts to the civil service at a time when the nation can barely afford such spending.the constant change of political party also undermines confidence in our political stability.

When the govt touts that depreciation helps in export market and international tourism,it only benefits the elite and the rich owners of export industries,hotel and airlines owners but what happens to ordinary people on a fixed income.our imported food bill rises and eats away our disposable income and savings.parents who send kids to study overseas fork out more money for overseas education,patients fork out more for medical bills,manufacturers expansion capacity impacted by expensive import of capital goods n machinery,businessmen who travel overseas fork out more for business expenses and impact domestic consumption at a time our export market has weakened.T

Talking big about the digital economy as a lure is a pipedream as Cyberjaya our version of Silicon Valley is just a real estate venture not a hub for tech start ups as our education system is lacklustre in digital education when Hong Kong n Singapore teach coding and tech at primary school level while we look at religious education revamp,where are tech start ups going to get sci tech workers from.South Korea is tops in manufacture and design of high tech microchips because of investment in computer literacy of workforce,don't even talk about China which is way up with the US in R and D whilst we are still bogged down by 1 M D B.our net  actual investment FDI inflow has dropped by 47 per cent compared to the previous year.from over 74billion to 39 billion.so that's reality on the ground.

Dance of the 500 year old dragon

 The Zumba Aman group is a bunch of fun loving crazy ladies and the average age of retiree is 55 yrs old.now they saw a dragon set left in a hall and decided to do a dragon dance for lunar new year instead of usual zumba.they are really spontaneous n crazy as add up total age of the dragon Troupe is 500 year old.ha ha they really reliving second childhood.or the second spring.

Scammed

 Beware many scammers on the rise from parcel scams,job scams,romance and investment scams,faster n easier than robbing a bank in which you risk being killed.

My excolleague,a cancer survivor got scammed when syndicates cloned her identity card.they wiped out her savings from all her bank accounts .she couldn't be discharged from a private hospital after chemotherapy as her accounts were nil.She luckily borrowed money from her sister n ex colleagues to pay her medical bill.now she has reported to central bank the scam n her credit cards n bank accounts are frozen.

We being excolleagues cheered her up.we are die hard sisterhood,being there for each other thro good n bad times.i told her I will cover all her meals as she lost appetite after chemo.she works 9 to 5,teach tuition after work n sells her painting to finance her treatment. Having cancer in mid 20s,she stays hopeful as she is an eternal optimist fighting to live after 15 years in n out of hospitals.she does volunteer at Tzu Chi cancer support group,workout daily,paints beautifully,performs her violin recitals and is full of zest for life.when I told her to try new go karting Luge at Gamuda Rawang,she was all for fun.life is too short to be held back by negativity.

Last nite I did meal prep till 2am.im giving her egg tarts n muffins for breakfast Portuguese sweet potato bread pang susi with chicken filling for lunch and lor Mai Kai or steamed glutinous rice chicken for dinner.our sorority means we look out for each other.i advised her not to cook instant noodles as it's carcinogenic n she's still having chemo

 In the heatwave with temp sizzling at 34 to 35 degree C,I've gone back to swimming.used to swim 10 lapS non stop 4 years ago,now feel breathless after 6 laps.need to build up stamina with more laps daily.long Covid impacted my lung function.

No huat coming
