When hands are tied in a unity government,is it time for the people to untie their link so that their tongues are not held hostage or voices silenced.Muda makes it's stand loud n clear because it's not tied or beholden to any alliances.if Muda doesn't create personality cults but focus on grassroot projects that benefit all regardless of race or ethnicity,it will build a stronger support base among young voters disillusioned by corruption of parties with entrenched personal interest.so Muda should move forward by following in footsteps of Onn bin Jaafar in setting up IMP.the voters have shown dissatisfaction by rejecting BN component parties and swung the elections to Perikatan especially in Terengganu,Kelantan,Perlis n Kedah.PKR could not make any inroad in the stronghold of Terengganu is testimony of the rakyats rejection of corruption n nepotism.instead the opposition made inroads in west coast states in rural and urban areas with B40 majority.so Muda should start youth volunteer corps to uplift the lives of B 40 with entrepreneur skill training programmes.
Rereading the book The Asian Future published by SIRD and White Lotus press.i think Indonesian public intellectual Arief Budiman makes a point with Asian governance.he commented Dr Mahathir knew about global capitalism and that third world countries can be more independent.he became a champion of 3rd world countries because of his position.
He prepared the country not to be too dependent on global capitalism so he created a national bourgeoise to oppose the international bourgeoise he can say something against the IMF strongly which other Asian leaders would be afraid of doing so because of their dependence on the IMF.
He praised Gusdur a public intellectual with a strong organizational base.reformation in the Indonesian context.the problem was the political elite were greedy not for the welfare of the people but for themselves.All who have personal integrity and some ideals are outside the political parties n involved in NGOs.if someone wants to join a political party,they will say you are looking for money.
You have to be both cautious n aggressive in tackling world capitalism.China is an interesting model.with the abundant natural resources in China,you can envision a more independent type of development.China has been punished for a long time.they can produce many things.
The good thing about China is their strong work ethic even though they are poor.they can produce their own cars like Malaysia.but the Malaysian market is too small.China has a much bigger market.you need to have a big population like china for industrialization and be rich in natural resources.you can then industrialize on the basis of your own strength.indonesia has that potential of natural and human resources.people in Indonesia are still poor because of very unstable political conditions.our govts change quite often.people are unhappy.we have an inefficient bureaucracy and corruption is common.we are unlike China which is very strong.
He praised Lee Kuan Yew as a visionary leader.there is strong nationalism and a strong opposition party.the govt is relatively clean and even Lees friends are punished if found guilty
The important thing for third world nations is to be independent China is a good model.they began industrialization after building the agricultural base.they can manage without major imports.they are more or less self sufficient in agricultural production then they. Started by producing bicycles and small things
like machine tools.industrialisation depends on technology especially high technology and financing.the best thing for third world nations is to develop agriculture.the important thing is people are not hungry.agriculture will keep the people happy.Industrialisation will come only after strengthening agricultural base.
