Food hunt
Lousy food puts me in bad mood but good food means good mood.so im on a food hunt for the best wok hei fried Hokkien mee.i love the apron of the waiters that say Good food makes me happy at Tiong hokkien mee
So far i rate Tiong hokkien mee as the king.no second mate yet.i went to Lao Peng charcoal fried hokkien mee but the stall was closed as the cook was hospitalised.hope old sifu recovers n dont sell off his business before i get a chance to try it. i went to AhWah restaurant.Full house so i shared a table with a couple.Hokkien mee was the star of the restaurant.I rate it so so only.ive tasted better ones in State new town ,In my day, cooks use charcoal to fry it,put in bamboo clams, shrimps, pork liver, pork fillet and choy sum.so much umami that the present day hokkien mee pales in comparison in terms of wok hei and ingredients.
Hokkien mee is the king and Cantonese fried yin yong is the queen of late nite supper of Malaysian Chinese as much as Nasi lemak is the breakfast king.
