YOLO
in my view, the role model of female empowerment for YOLO is the talented actress Sharon Stone. She not only exudes sultry sexiness but has both beauty and brains, not a glitzy dumb blonde like Marilyn Monroe.
She graduated in late teens with a degree in fine arts and creative writing.Someone said she would have made a good lawyer but she entered and won a beauty pageant n caught the eyes of an agent and became a model for Ford Agency. From there she transitioned to be an actress, acting alongside Arnold in Total Recall.but she was daring enough to be a nude model for Playboy which sent her fame to rocket skyhigh and offered a role in her most iconic movie Basic Instinct.
She was formerly married to a newspaper editor adopted a son and when she had a near fatal stroke and brain haemorrhage, her only pillar of strength was her mother.her husband had another woman and divorced her and took away her adopted son.She fought her way back to regain her health, won custody of her son and adopted two more boys. She rebuilt her career and started a film production company called Chaos production and got nominated for a golden globe award for her role as a mother in the movie the Mighty produced by her company.i felt the story of the Mighty resembles Carson Mc Cullers The heart is a lonely hunter about social misfits.
She represents the saying tough times dont last but tough people do.When she found roles becoming less as an aging actress, she reinvented her career to be an artist.I see her not as a glamourous actress but a strong, independent woman ,very confident and comfortable in her own skin and compassionate to those less fortunate. She paid for the tuition fees of a budding ballet dancer and i saw her in a video donating to a homeless african american mother who lost her home as her daughter had cancer.Shes like Tina Turner, confident, compassionate and tough as nails and trimphs over adversity with grace and loving kindness.that is YOLO.
to me,Sharon Stone is resilient like a bamboo.it bends but does not break
