Melaka fusion food nyonya baba

i love fusion chinese malay food so the baba nyonya peranakan cuisine is my favourite.today i cooked mee siam a rice vermecelli dish cooked in spicy sambal belacan,pounded dried prawns,fermented beans taucheo,shrimps,fish cakes,cucumber,bean sprouts n carrot .it has sourish spicy taste from tamarind juice n a little lime juice.Jun requested for my Cantonese steamed malay cake ma lai go .i added a twist with rose syrup,vanilla essence,low fat milk n corn oil.topped with small slices of banana n raisins.i buy my lemak manis banana n local avocados from ulam melayu in taman tun wet market as Mak Cik Azizah give cooking tips.i made laksa johor with the ready made curry paste i buy from mak cik .her malay herbs and kampung fruits has freshness n variety i buy green mango to. make rojak n pisang tanduk for banana fritters.she even sells daun kaduk n ulam raja herbs to cook nasi ulam.shes a treasure trove on malay cuisine n herbs
