its with a heavy heart that i got news of the death of Sister Enda,our beloved headmistress who founded Assunta primary and secondary school.Who doesnt temember her infectious laughter and sudden burst into singing songs.She treated us like her own children and inculcated values of charity and kindness.ad veritatem per caritatem to truth through charity.
Although born as an Irish,her contribution to the Malaysian education system
is invaluable as she gave us lessons on peace,love and kindness,universal values in life.the Mercy Malaysia humanitarian aid founder Dr Jemilah was a former alumni as was former Central bank governor Dr Zeti Aziz.She taught us to be good citizens as i remembered the lyrics of our school song which she composed herself as it delivers a message of loyalty and inclusiveness.so when politicians try to divide us through race and religion,i salute and respect an orang putih mat salleh angmo nun who preach peace,kindness and inclusiveness.the next time i fill in a form that states race i will answer the Human race.rip Sister Enda
So we realise that school days are numbered
And one day we must take our place
As loyal members of our beloved Malaysian race
here in Assunta,we live as one large family
in preparation for what our future lives must be
Different members of the same human race.
