Public security in food chain
The recent scare about contamination of mussels from the seas in Port Dickson gave consumers a wake up call on environmental protection.some sort of algae cause neurotoxins that result in paralysis.i was sick with worry because i consumed local mussels during that time until a restauranter friend says PD mussels are not sold in Klang valley so most probably mine came from Sabah waters or Selamgor.
With water pollution,the cases of food poisoning increases so i dont eat raw oysters or cockles and avoid food that cause salmonella.i dont eat raw salmon or fish as im scared of parasitic worms.Japan reported cases of flesh eating bacteria and with antibiotic resistance bacteria increasing,its harder to treat.
At least the Japanese authorities are transparent on dangers of supplements that result in deaths,kidney disease and hospitalisation.Public security is important whether in food processing or manufacture of pharmaceutical products like India selling deadly cough syrup that killed children.I always thought natural food that is not overly processed is safer but the Chinese has been consuming red yeast rice wine traditionally n used by the hock chiew community for cooking.so why only now they discover a deadly mould in the fermentation process.
i bought 2 packets of tiger milk mushroom herbs to boil soup to strengthen the lungs.Jun has a lot of phlegm and bad sinus lately.im gonna give the other packet to the blind guy.i dont dare take supplements made of tiger milk mushroom especially as it could be contaminated in a backyard manufacturer that lacks quality control.
