Then went Chinese old grocery shop to buy shaved coconut,red bean curd n Sichuan salted vegetable.saw colourful lanterns displayed for mooncake autumn festival and bought teochew mooncake from old shopkeeper .Peng Soon is a good place to buy ingredients for traditional chinese cooking like century egg or salted black beans.for indian ingredients,i drove to indian grocery shop to get pickled mango chutney,chat masala and dhall flour.had a millet pancake,vadai n snacks with my chai masala in sri pandi.my go to stall for Malay ingredients is mak cik Azizah stall in taman tun wet market from daun kesum,ulam raja to sour unripe green mango n pucuk pakis.sometimes i get tips on cooking as well like goreng pisang tanduk with sambal kicap manis chilli padi.now which supermarket offers personalised service?
Then its off to tailor shop to do alteration to some dresses as ive lost weight .the elderly tailors at the manual Singer sewing machine brings back good memory of my childhood shophouse.bales of fabric,boxes of buttons,zip and lace and the unique machine with spools of white thread for stitching seams of clothes.
