Im a huge fan of Makoto Shinkais works.Hes a masterful visual storyteller and has a perceptive understanding of the intimate relationship between the sexes and between people and their environment.i fell in love with his movie Your Name after viewing it on big scteen and this was followed by the awesome
the Garden of Words. Now im reading the novel She and her Cat based on his early black and white anime and it tells the story from the viewpoint of stray cats and their patrons. He has a deep understanding of what makes cats and humans tick.
The story reminds me of Kenui, the batman resident cat at Mirth Sathorn hotel in Bangkok. He was playful n frisky as a kitten.he chased the squirrels on the tree n tried to shoo away the birds.i drew kenuis picture on a white t shirt.the second cat was Bobby the fat cat at Pelangi condo.he loved to curl up on motorbikes and ran and rubbed against my leg when i went to my car.residents loved his friendly nature that little kids loved to play with him and we fed him wet food.my third cat mate was yoga who waited as i walked to exercise in the park.yoga loved belly rubs and whiska tuna.
Now i ve considered giving up Captain kitty to another family to take care of as hes become so mischevious n frisky but after reading Makoto Shinkais book,i have a change of heart.he understands felines emotions so well.not what i expected from the stereotype of aloof, emotionless, reserved Japanese males
