Silver divorces

 Divorce among Japanese retired couples have shot up by 300% compared to the generation before.the workaholic culture and social life of salaried company men meant they spent more time at work and socializing after work than with the wife and childten.so when the men retired,the wives cant stand being a servant to a big baby and their separate lives make him practically a stranger to spouse and child.

Now when divorced wives can legally claim half of her husbands pension,she would rather get her freedom rather than suffer in silence.

In most cases,the children would have grown up and could emotionally handle the split.there is less social stigma of divorcees and the women would havs built up her own network of support in her housewife days compated to men who will face loss of face and lack of emotional support and feelings of worthlessness.

ut milk and screwpine leaves.added sliver of jackfruit.i use monkfruit sweetener which is healthier.

Time flies

 Let time flow like a river and the years go by silently.may time be forgiving.

Its nostalgic listening to cantopop of the past superstars from Hong Kong like Anita Mui,Danny Chan Pak Keung and Leslie Cheung.gone but their music lives on.unlike the current pop singers who switch to English to widen fan base to global appeal ,they stayed true to their roots.

Chinese ink wash

 I like the delicate beauty of Chinese ink wash painting.grocery shopping at Lotus,i stumble on this small shop outside Lotus entrance with creative Arabic khat written like Chinese calligraphy and included chinese ink wash paintings.fascinated i browse thro and found the artist is a Hui Chinese who is an acupuncturist dabbling in calligraphy and ink wash painting.the price was reasonable and i fell in love with two sansui water n mountain ink wash painting and bought them.the painting evoke a sense of peaceful contemplation of nature.ilove the snow scene with a boat moored and a red lantern brightening the dull grey wintry day.Hassan Bai has an eye for natural beauty and the scenery is so tranquil.
