 Watching a movie The Beast starring Idris Elba.need some cheap thrill to spice up my humdrum life as i wont go on a safari now the ringgit devalue so low.Maybe to 

Sarawak to see hornbills n orang utan soon

I like the safari in the movie,stunning views of wild animals and the magnificent lions.The rogue lion was intimidating and was the star of the show but as it was a thriller,it portrayed the lion as a predator unlike the animal shown in Born Free.South Africa is a beautiful nation and the scenery of the sunset looked like it came from the pages of National Geographic.Jun n I are captivated by beauty of african savannah n its our dream destination.Kruger National Park has car stopping lions n cubs .wow

National day celebration Merdeka!!!

 On morning of Merdeka,i recovered from knee pain and joined the zumbathon but I rested for 30 mins so i wont overstrain muscles n knees.then it was off to the food court at TTDI wet market for Malaysian breakfast of roti canai,dhall n coconut chutney n a glass of tea.Who is the hardworking Member of Parliament YB Hannah Yeoh at a floral arrangement workshop.She really supports women empowerment and sponsored our zumba classes at Kiara Park for a year where ladies of all ages and races danced every Sunday for fitness.

No entry to cat

 I prevented snowball from following me into the lift.She is cute but bloody restless and cant be confined inside the house .

Down but not out

 Ive been resting to recover from sprained muscle n knee pain but today im back to walking exercises at the park.im down but not out yet.

I wore the knee guard and Jun fetched me to the park to make sure i dont overexert n fall again.but im red faced to sit in his over 20 year old vintage Nissan sports car that is screaming for attention with ear splitting exhaust.This car is a money pit as it sits in workshop for maintenance and repair more often than its on the road.its a dick magnet and not a chick magnet as guys oogle his wheels and loud exhaust. The spray painted graffiti on its bonnet makes it a real Ah Bengs car with spoiler at the back.

The sports car is so low that i had difficulty getting in and out of the car.what makes my head spin is when he speeds up to fast n furious street racing level and i get heart attack,ear pain and knee pain sitting in his darling car,praying hard it doesnt breakdown halfway on the road.i just dont understand why guys are so crazy about hot wheels while small  and now his vintage car is a big boys toy.

Red flags

 There are red flags in social media communication that thrives on secrecy,anonymity and fake identity.The red flags to spot are catfishing,ghosting and gaslighting.

In catfishing,the person uses a fake profile to carry on a relationship and seduce others to dupe them of money which is a love bait to scam someone.

In ghosting,the user develops a close and frequent communication with the other party,sharing the goings on in their lives and then without notice suddenly cuts off all contacts and removes all traces of oneself from the social media network.it leaves the other party confused n bewildered at what has happened to cause the sudden disappearance.

The last red flag is a psychological manipulation tool in which the user is made to doubt his decisions and breaks his self confidence on his own perceptions and blur reality and illusion until he is filled with self doubt so gas lighting is used as an emotional abuse tool

When peoples self identity is based on the online identity,the danger is damage to the mental health and rise in suicidal rates.so the young or old have to be educated on the obssession with internet addiction because it creates a withdrawal from the real world and its not just monetary scam and fraudsters that are red flags in internet communication

Adjustments

 A non stop zumba on weekends and i twisted my knee.Osteoarthritis flare up and had to get medication to ease painful joints.i need to listen to my body now and make adjustments

Now i understand why Tai chi and Qi gong are popular with senior citizens as aging wear n tear on tendons and cartilage cause sports injury.slow movements are easier on the joints than fast and sharp twists n turns.

Now gonna go slow and steady but how i miss the beat of zumba,rumba n cha cha cha.its back to swimming nowadays as it is less strain on joints.

Traffic jam in thunderstorm

 Tropical thunderstorm comes with thunder,lightning n rain lashing on balcony.im thankful as a pensioner,i dont have to fight the traffic jams driving through cold heavy rain  over

30 kms to Kajang,Port Klang,Bukit Beruntung from home to work.In the m

orning,i went to work before sunrise and by the time i reached home it was dark.but i had a promise to keep to bring up my boy,to give him a comfortable childhood and the best in life from music lessons to painting tuition.

  So i really appreciate the chance to exercise outdoors in early morning sunshine,to hear birds chirping and take a leisurely breakfast.i earn a good rest as ive given the best 36 years of my life educating Malaysian young people of all races and religions to start on their ambitious careers.The merdeka advertisement by seng cars motor of 3 adults looking for their ex teacher Lim Foong brought tears and good memories of my career teaching the young people.

We hope that they will carry forth the hope of  further progress to the nation.Thank you wanita Malaysia from Ambiga,PG Lim,Mother Mangalam,Ivy Josiah,Maria Chin,Zainah Anwar and Tengku Maimun for restoring hope for a better Malaysia.

On this cold,rainy nite,my heart is warm as i wrap myself with my batik wrap,snuggle on my cushy sofa remembering the Tiger of Malaya,the fighter that is brave and ferocious.then i tuck in on comfort food of yam rice for dinner.thats a good way to end the day.

Embroidery

 I like to design and embroider on my own T shirts to personalise it.i also create naughty tag lines on T shirts to create a laugh.i dont care too hoots what people think.my t shirt for Jun cause him to face roaring laughter.it had a design of an arrow pointing downwards to the groin

National day Merdeka

 Let us reflect on how far the nation has developed and what needs to be improved.Opening up the economy after lengthy lockdown has seen a return to economic growth and a pent up consumer demand sees restaurants being filled with crowds and shopping malls packed with shoppers and traffic jams in commercial business areas.but growth has been limited by serious labour shortage when plantations lack labourers and restaurants and hotels are short of service staff.this needs to be addressed.good that action has been taken to ease inflationary pressure so food prices are affordable again although the supply chain disruption has affected manufacture of certain medicine and foodstuff.

Hope the govt will not tax consumers for online purchases of rm500 and below because its how many urban families make a saving by buying necessities online.tax those who buy big ticket luxury items more than those who buy cheaper goods online.bundle shop or thrift shops are doing well as people save by buying second hand clothes,prams,electrical appliances.im now buying preloved crockery ,clothes,bags,etc to fit the budget but i cant do it for food supplements,health food ,medicine etc.

Megacities

 Megacities are non sustainable environment as they require massive infrastructure,transportation and energy and water consumption,generate huge amounts of sewage and air and water pollution.

Now climate change had seen severe weather pattern changes from flooding to wildfires and droughts.Megacities need to consume.huge amounts of electricity and clean water so in a situation of energy crisis,the cost of living escalates.It becomes worse when there is drought and threatens food production so contributes to food insecurity.

More than ever,consumerism driven economic growth has to change to a more sustainable model.

Its vital to get a balance between gdp growth and environmental sustainability.

 This melody is a classic i never get tired of listening to.it was written by a panama songwriter and the lyric oozes with sentiments but when played on a saxophone,it comes to life especially when the tango is danced ,the seduction is played out by the slow,sultry moves.the other song that is evergreen is la en vie rose a french classic .

Chris Evert

 For Chris Evert,the ex world class tennis player.her recovery from ovarian cancer was a journey to hell and back especially when she lost her sister to ovarian cancer.To personally witness her sisters painful death and her own encounter with it made her appreciate her health which to her is more important than love.

Like Sheryl Crow,the singer who was a cancer survivor,the brush with Big C made them reevaluate priorities in life.Ovarian cancer is an insidious disease and sometimes there are no early signs until its too late.

Your health is the most important thing. I hate to say it but, to me, it even comes before love. To love, you’ve got to be alive. I’m still vigilant with my health but I want to be as authentic as I can and be more open and listen more. That’s all a result of the cancer. I’m very lucky to be here.”

Snowball

 Yesterday a beautiful biege Siamese cat purred outside my gate.She licked my ankle and meowed loudly for attention .i fell in love with her blue eyes and bushy tail.i fed her tuna and water.made her a bed of cloth near the shoe rack.she was there the whole day,waiting for me to come out to run errands and rub against my leg.i plan to adopt her

But my happiness was short lived.by nite fall,she had run away.such stray cats love to roam freely.i had tied a yellow ribbon around her neck to let people know someone misses her snowball.its a mixed pedigree of siamese n burmese.sigh.my happiness melted like snow in the hot sun.stay free snowball.

Snowball belongs to someone else,the resident on ground flòor has given her a comfy bed near garden,a kitty box n her own toy.no wonder she behaves like attention seeker wanting to be petted .well so now its love from afar as long as shes safe n happy,im ok with it.

Snowskin mooncakes

 My kitchen experiments with snowskin mooncakes filling n flavour caused me to put on weight.ive tested different flavours n fillings until i wont eat snowskin for the next 2 years.

The skin is too soft to eat fresh n must be chilled in fridge for 2 days.ive tried butterfly blue pea flower skin with shredded coconut in

 buttermilk inspired by the famous Hong Kong cocktail buns.but i used a mixture of fresh grated young coconut flakes n dessicated coconut,butter,eggs,n coconut milk to get the taste right.it was awful when i used fresh grated old coconut with tough fibres.threw away that failed filling.the red rose syrup red bean is nice n fragrant.juns galpal liked the coconut milk skin with chocolate filling.i like the yellow osmanthus skin with pineapple filling.jun likes the purple yam skin with lotus gula melaka paste.my friend liked the jade skin with pandan lotus paste.i tried purple yam filling and japanese sweet potato filling but its too expensive for taro and japanese sweet potato..
