Reforms are important

For us not to turn into another Sri Lanka or Pakistan debt ridden and lack of development and diversification in economy,we need to be proactive and not reactive. clearly there is lack of foresight in rolling out the Malaysia my second home visa scheme with change of rules like increase in financial security for foreign applicants and that cheaper nations like Thailand and Vietnam offered better deals than us to lure foreign residents. then again it was farsighted to attract investors in a digittal economy and attract production of advanced chips to build factories in Malaysia as foreign chip manufacturers look to expand global supply chain of chips .to go into AI or EV production requires a better Stem edu cation of the workforce and though tevamp and reform of malaysia is badly needed,it has not changed its inertia. Will we need to depend on import of high skilled foreign professionals to power the digital economy as we have already become highly dependent on migrant labour to work in our service, construction and plantation industries.what has happened to local human resources who are unemployable. its snail pace when the reforms are carried out at kindergarten levels only when our school students cant even master the 3 r.Has the govt measured the competency of our civil service against other nations standard like Hong kong to New York before increasing public service salaries and cause another rise in inflation at a time the ringgit is devalued and subsidies are removed.and the govt in future face payout of trillion ringgit pension unless it switch over to EPF for public service. what has the government done for import substitution of food from rice, onions, chilli and vegetable n fruits. Thailand is self sufficient in agricultural produce and seafood and meat with surplius exported and they have a huge domestic market for fast moving conusmer goods like processed meat, frozen and canned food. now China relocates its EV production plants to Thailand and Indonesia as they seek entry to southeast asia markets.why bypass Malaysia which already has its local car production.is lack of charging and maintenance infrastructure a stumbling block. if our political management is still mired by infighting,we will see lack of investment in our stock markets as when in estors see all that boycott mentality, they will opt out.when Kentucky youre Fired Chicken closes down 100 outlets in Malaysia, who loses their jobs, the foreign migrants or local citizens? this KKB by election will see another silly season begin with mudslinging and open house partying.do something to provide more employment opportunities to youths in KKB not to migrate to cities like small scale industries, bigger hotels for eco tourism or even recreational facilities for tourists .its still the same old same old after 30 years of a sleepyhollow.
