I dine out at SS2 tasty porridge after dental treatment as i couldnt eat solid food yet.it was a terribly dark,rainy nite so it was comfort food to eat hot,creamy rice porridge with condiments.when i was paying up at the cashier,i saw an old,homeless man in his 70s with his bag of possessions looking at the menu hungrily.he said he had no money to eat so i paid for a bowl of chicken porridge for him.
Thats the least i can do to give him a decent meal.our govt should look after thecwelfare of single elderly homeless people as they are neglected with no family or childten.they depend on soup kitchen like kechara soup kitchen to get by.the Muslims have zakat to look after the poor but the non muslims depend on aid from the public.i do what little i can like the blind elderly man who goes to the dim sum shop to sell tissues .i havent seen him since the covid started so i hope he survived the pandemic.thete has to be some support system for the married elderly who are childless and the singles staying alone.
