Sampan rice congee or tang jai jook

As a Cantonese,eating jook or rice congee starts from childhood.as toddlers our introduction to solid food was silky smooth rice congee cooked with thai jasmine rice,fish fillet,minced pork balls.congee is the ultimate comfort food as its soft n easily digestible. of course the boat people in hong komg refined it to tamg jai jook or sampan porridge.it has sliced ginger strips,pork balls,pig liver,fish fillet,pig maw and skin,cuttlefish,deep fried peanuts,salted egg,century egg,dried oysters n deep fried crunchy pork intestine,topped with scallion,sesame oil n crunchy deep fried shallots n deep fried vermicelli. i ate congee in hospital with teriyaki fish fillet.yummy taste so good. so dont try funny food fusion like hamburger with roasted pork char siew or wantan noodle with tomato bolognaise sauce.horrifying taste n kills appetite
