Let the young run things their way

We the older generation should step back and let the young with their own ideas run the world.we the older generation have left them a lot of mess to clear from the destructive climate change effects of environmental crisis, the toxic chemicals in our food supply chain, the mounting student debt from their varsity education, the rising cost of medical healthcare, the inability to buy their own homes ,the instability of economy due to corruption and mismanagement, the threat of warfare and nuclear weapons proliferation. the hippies and the counter culture were a rebellion against the old order.now in the US,we see the establishment reassert its dominance again on progressive values as abortion is banned in most states, gun violence and mass killings continued unabated, the opoid crisis shows leģalised drug addiction due to profiteering, the curb on free speech and free expression in dont say gay and clamping down on LGBT rights and police brutality on black lives matters and the bogeyman syndrome in anti Asian and Hispanic attacks. the young should be given the chance to do things their way to unravel the mess our generation has left behind. when i watched the movie by Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis,i had a hard time in figuring out the timeline as it zooms forwards and backwards in a chaotic time machine.but what is clearcut is the underlying message of the generation gap between the old and young, between the conflict between east and west. the collaborative effort of an asian and white scriptwriter resulted in this crazy ideas being acted out its surrealistic and unconventional and absurdist.in our boomer generation,we follow our parents wishes and worked as lawyers, doctors, accountants and engineers.now the young follow their passion and work as musicians, animators, artists and organic farmers and yoga teachers. the world is changing and as in the movie, your childs life partner could be non binary or gender fluid and it becomes acceptable to the parents as Michelle Yeoh the matriarch finally accepts her only childs choice in life. the concept of 3 generations living under the same roof is outdated in this modern times as the young have a lifestyle thats very different from us,the older generation.let us free them to live their lives.we have had our time.the younger generation music, dressing, values and lifestyles are at odds with ours.the children are our future so let them lead the way and we should graciously just step aside whether its the power hungry politicians that cling on to their power and drive the nation to grinding poverty and chaos in Myanmar and Sri Lanka or Africa.or as parents, let go and free them to live, work amd marry whereever and whoever they wish. We've had had our chance so let the young do things their way. I was surprised when i went to Chinatown to see how the young have revitalized the dying business with new establishments preserving heritage conservation but reinventing them to hotels, bars and hipster cafes with public murals and etc.they should design a heritage trail with better pictorial signboards showcase back alley murals, quaint hindu and chinese temples, clan association, old trades, funeral parlours, chin woo swimming pool and markets.brief descriptions should be given of their historical significance.when i went to Rex KL,i was surprised by the social enterprises of the young people in using recycled t shirts to weave floor mats or using natural ,organic dye on white t shirts.very interesting things tourists would try to learn in a 4 to 5 hour project.maybe they should conduct cooking classes on baking traditional pastry like deep fried sweet potato balls or mooncakes.or music playing on the yang qin and chinese drums and lion dance movements. surprising how fresh ideas from young people can give new life to dying business and old areas of Chinatown.i still like traditional dim sum in chinatown Malaya and Mandarin hotel to the trendy fusion food at hipster cafe but i really belong to another age and time,i guess.
