Ling Chee Kang
Ling Chee Kang is a lotus seed sweet soup that is popular with the Malays.somehow the Malay drinks stall make surprisingly authentic Ling Chee Kang.this is a herbal drink that is cooling and clears body heat.Jun complained of sore throat and sticky phlegm.he quickly used three rapid antigen kit to test for Covid and after 3 test kits,it was negative.phew.the chinese say late nights,lack of sleep,eating fried stuff n snacks will cause heaty body.so i went to the Chinese medical hall that sells traditional herbs to make Ling Chee Kang.nowadays the young people are hopeless.chinese herbs have a million and one ingredients and they arent bothered to learn the names and its effects.one say i dont know ling chee kang.so i went to one with elderly herbalist.he recommended ready packed lok mei or 6 flavours but its more for savoury pork soup.so i bought monk fruit,dried persimmom,snow fungus,sugared winter melon,red dates and the malva seed or pang da hai or dai hoi lam.its good for expel dampness in the lung n relieve sore throat.its like dried plum but soak in water,it expands like jelly seaweed agar.i also added sea coconut in honey to relieve dry cough.luckily Jun loves herbal tea as my mom used to boil it for her grandchildren .jun even goes to drink bitter herbal tea.
