Break up

 Sometimes its the secessionist movement thst intends to breakaway from a federation that will see self determination of its state.

USSR broke up and disintegrated into individual nation states.United Kingdom broke away from EU with Brexit Now the United Kingdom itself faces  internal division with Scotland clamouring for independence and secede from Great Britain,soon to be followed by Ireland.

The EU soon will see more Brexits as

 Italy,Poland,Hungary ,Czechslovakia are increasing asserting its independent stance away from the collective stance imposed by EU.

As EU weakens economically,smaller nations who see no commercial benefit of being under the control of EU will clamour to exit.

At the same time,national security of smaller states  are subservient to collective EU orders so that it pushes them into military involvement on issues of proxy warfare.its eerily similar to the rise of Fascist Germany in World War 2 so when EU is dominated by charismatic warlords,then it pushes EU into military solutions rather than negotiated settlements.
