Faisal Tehranis short stories
I read a few of Faisal Tehranis short story which should be literary text for upper secondary Malaysian schools. Its well researched with historical facts and realitic narratives of lives of all the migrants who make up our multicultural society.it presents an empathetic portrayal of the trials and tribulations of making a living in a far away land, the idiosyncrasies of Characters in a surrealistic setting and i really enjoyed reading it in Malay albeit some vocabulary were unknown but i could guess the meaning from context.
Then i baked a batch of blueberry muffins with real blueberries, raisins n greek yoghurt.its more healthy n preservative n additive free.ive seen instant mix with imitation blueberry or carrot n artificial flavour n colouring n freaks me out.
its nice to bake on rainy days.the muffins cost rm 1.80 each compared to the rm 5 muffins sold at Aeon supermarket or rm 9 sold at artisan bakery.i must learn from culinary students how to bake brioche, ciabatta or focacia and sourdough bread as European bread are sooo expensive.
i prefer it to soft fluffy Japanese bread that feels like cottoncandy.the crusty bread pairs well with clam chowder or french onion soup.yum yum tummy
