Why BRICS will be death knell of ASEAN

I read Murray Hunters article in Eurasia Review and agree wholeheartedly with his critical analysis.The relevance of BRICS will eclipse the non committal and non proactive stance of ASEAN dooming it to mere talkfest and ineffective regional bloc. Its stance of non interference sees it paralysed by inaction when overlapping issues ensued.Turning a blind eye to Myanmars internal strife causes Rohingya tefugee crisis in heighbouring countries or when overlapping claims on maritime areas like contested Batu Putih or Pedrablanca needs international arbitration or Pra Vihear dispute between Thailand n Cambodia Whereas BRICS is more of an economic bloc of global South countries that face increasing sanctions and protectionism of western economies,the relevance of BRICs overshadows the passivity of ASEAN.
