Dinner for Duan Wu

i invited blind elder dai gar che over for family dinner.so tiring to use 4 hours to meal prep,cook up a storm n clean up i like home cooking for family for Chinese festivals as we can talk loudly ngap sam ngam xai.Sis tecalled old family ties about relatives in Guangdong when she visited with my fourth aunt the ancestral clan house of maternal po po.She listens avidly to Hong Kong podcasts and i agreed with her the city had unique perspectives as it has Western and Eastern heritage which gives it an edge i boiled chicken soup with snow fungus and honey dates n fresh ginseng from Changbai mountain in China,Then cooked.China oysters and scallion in egg foo yoong.it took 2 hours to steam paper wrapped herbal spring chicken which i marinated for a day.i douse it in Shaoxing rice wine and the aroma drove kitty trying to steal into the kitchen Then i cooked stir fried spinach with goji berries,pan fried salmon in ginger and teriyaki sauce and sweet n sour shrimps i bought a month ago and froze it. i made a tang yuan or rice balls in jasmine tea laced with osmanthus flower and sis loved the sweet floral fragrance.We ate the sambal prawn zong zi that was like pulut panggang wrapped in banana leaf.Tbe sambal was spicy and had oomph.i liked the red date and cantonese yellow alkaline red bean dumpling.we drank Pu Erh chinese tea which goes well with zongzi.ended with jade lychee and red cherry from Turkey. i need to workout tomorrow to burn off calories.
