Sky high inflation in Malaysia

The economic policies aint working for average income earner to keep up with soaring food prices. The star newspaper reported it costs rm 8,800 per person per annum for food bills alone in the Klang valley.Thats an underestimate. lets estimate a breakfast of rm 5,lunch at nasi campur with drinks is rm 20 and no fanciful place with sales n service tax.A meal of rice and 3 side dishes is rm16 and a kopi ais is rm 4 now.the same thing applies at rm20 for dinner. So a wage earner needs to spend rm45 a day for meals.in a month ,he spends rm1,350 on food alone.Dont count transport to work, rent, phone, electricity bill and car mortage.it leaves him with negative savings at the end of the month. What lah if he has to support a wife and a small child. So living in the city,he cant affotd to have 2 children if his wife isnt working.Even with double income, the payment for babysitter fees, childrens medical bills, milk powder and nappies n food,it just about cover the expenses so i admire those who have 4 or 5 children in the urban cities of Malaysia and pay for school bus, uniform, tuition fees. If the govt cancel subsidy the citizens will face many hardships.with the removal of egg subsidy, price of C grade eggs double from rm5.90 to rm 8.90 or even at 2 Eco shop 30 eggs cost rm15.By end of year 30 eggs C grade will cost rm12.90 on average. Then with cancel of Ron 95 subsidy, transport rise will cause eggs to go up to rm 15 or 16 for 30 eggs. im going vegetarian for 3 days a week when food bill increases to rm1,400 per person per month. What for dampen domestic consumers demand at a time our exports face headwind from increasing protectionism in western markets?Even in China,GDP growth may moderate to 4% and in Malaysia,we are lucky to get 3% growth with increase in trade barriers. today i ate a home cooked meal a simple butter bun with tuna rillete costing rm5 ,a fruit salad of indian grapes, thai mango n watermelon cost rm4.50,a tub of yoghurt at rm1.60,2 can drinks at rm 5.20 from 2 Eco shop.so lunch alone at home cost rm 16.30.you cant even eat a decent healthy lunch for rm10 these days.so many B40 are buying instant noodles to eat these days so malnutrition in Malaysia for lower income group will increase too
