As a financial hub it drew banks n commercial investment entities backed by its sound legal regulatory system,political stability and good anti corruption index but now its facing stiff competition from Singapore as a stable financial centre after the political mayhem of the umbrella revolution and the travel restrictions of pandemic control.
To thrive,it has to reinvent the education system and investment by state funds into the future business.where once it was the business of art and entertainment ,tourism and the food industry that had contributed to its prosperity,now it has to move to advanced science and technology and the knowledge economy of artificial intelligence,biotech,genetic engineering,drone
and robotic industries,pharmaceutical and smart communication system.it was a leader in the newbie industry like plastics and clothing in the past but now need to reinvent itself to remain competitive as how Japan and Germany reorient its economy after the devastation of the post world war.its the spirit of the people to change that has seen them become dynamic developed nations
