May light dispel darkness and may the truth drive away ignorance

i have got ready my home altar to celebrate Wesak.In reflecting on the Dhammapada,i wish all citizens can live in peace and harmony even as hate politics seek to separate us.Look at the threat to democracy when the Proud Boys,extremists try to overthrow an elected government by use of violence and invading the Congress building.See how ugly hatred gets when the speakers husband Nancy Pelosis hubby is hammered on the head by an intruder. We have two very young police officers killed by extremists,people trying to snatch firearms of the police,people with machetes trying to gatecrush into the royal palace and death threats against a politician.When partisan politics threaten peace,law and order,something is happening to the stability of everyday life when mini markets get firebombed and shootouts happen in public places. Things will only get uglier .how can sports that aim to unite people beyond race and class end up in acid attacks.? the activities at communal level or school level has to be initiated to promote social interaction not social isolation.
