When they voted,the people hope for improvement in the quality of life and living standards.So the token for show only frugal sham by politicians is a symbolic gesture that doesnt aid in improving the cost of living of average Malaysian households.
Instead i felt ripped off by the move by central bank in increasing the opr lending rates on our mortgages.then i got a shock to see the entertainment tax on my cinema tickets when i went to watch Avatar the way of the water.i only watch movies twice a year as i prefer watching in comfort of home without idiots kicking the back of my chair.now i may have to stop watching live theatre or concerts as there is entertainment tax.
Worse in April the government will tax consumers 10% sales tax for buying low value goods below rm500 from overseas through e commerce.thats how we can afford to buy goods like home appliances at budget price and for that also wanna squeeze the last cent from us.pity those of us surviving on low salary and buying second hand goods from bundle shops.
At the end of the day,its the economics and bread and butter issues that affect the daily lives of voters.
