i make new friends at the park from Elizabeth to Abang Kang.Kang is an indonesian from jawa who settled in banting a generation ago.hes cheerful n talkative he greets me in cantonese.seems this year he witnessed 31 deaths from covid in his kampung with many elderly refusing vaccines.even his sis in law died from covid.so he has taken all shots,even the booster.he says im one of the budak bar not the wine bar but the monkey bar.such a cheeky old man.i also made friends with a middle aged couple,so loving holding hands n wearing matching t shirts.i refered to her husband as being so fit stretching at the bar when she corrected me and said thats my boyfriend.im 60 years old ,single and found the love of my life three years ago with a widower.they couldnt hold a wedding because of covid restrictions.well love strikes at any age,they say.
