Stress reliever

I had buried the past and moved on in life. Now im being asked to reopen old wounds so its akin to digging my own grave as im discovering a lot of skeletons in the closet and theyre coming back to haunt me. the thing about marrying an Asian man is you dont just marry the man but the whole clan.so family infighting and politics is part and parcel of the game.i think my friend was wise to marry a.white Australian as the clan only meets during celebrations and dont exert undue influence on my friend whos free to lead her life the way she wants, how she spends her money or letting her hubby do all the cooking at home.i told my friend shes a lucky wife as she calls the shot and need not please her in laws extended family.i still recall my Indian excolleague Pat Ratnasingham. Her fiance call off their marriage when her mom ,a single parent couldnt come up with a big dowry n offended her future in laws.Pat is smart n did her external university of london law degree while working full time as an English teacher when i was the head of department.i consoled her that the right one will come when tbe karma is there.the next thing i knew, she quitted her job and married her German boyfriend, relocating to Europe so life works in mysterious ways. i prefer the western family structure. There is more freedom and less interference and the nepotism of blood is thicker than water. to relieve stress and anxiety,i find baking therapeutic.its more fun than stir frying or deep fat frying.i just baked a mango yoghurt cake with real chopped mango cubes in it.smells heavenly. Dinner i cooked roti paratha onion or indian flatbread stuffed with onion, panner shahi or chickpea, brocolli n cottage cheese curry and a bit of mango chutney.drink green tea.jun is having fried rice as hes big eater
