May peace prevail

pray that peace is restored and people can resume lives.refocus on fighting the pandemic killing so many innocent instead of destroying each other in this madness. repercussions affect food supply like wheat in developing nations to soaring energy bills for ordinary people to disruption of food ,medicine n essentials for russians. in this troubled times,the anxiety,doom and gloom of twin threats of war and pandemic has destroyed the mental shield of many young or old.so choose optimism over despair said American activist Noam Chomsky,for if people believe there is a better future,they will step up and take responsibility to make it happen. but if they lose the will to live,they will lose the fight to live on.thats why the French family living in Switzerland barricaded themselves at home,stocked up home with food supply,cut themselves off from the world.believing in conspiracy and survivalist theories,they felt despair over the pamdemic and war in Europe and lost the will to live.one by one,father,mother ,twin sister,son and daughter jumped down from their apartment one after another.its heart breaking that the social isolation and lockdown of pandemic measures cause people to commit collective suicide before the actual covid virus kills them.im malaysia,a middle aged bachelor who lived alone caught covid and the anxiety caused him to jump into the river to kill himself.the pink wristband of a covid positive victim was found on his wrist .its not fear of death but the alienation and isolation of being cut off from the world that causes them to lose the will to live. in Hong Kong,the covid is spreading in old folks homes and nursing homes like wildfire.when they should be living peacefully in their twilight years,now they live in stress and isolation in quarantine centres,cut off from family and friends and die among strangers without a chance for a final farewell from loved ones.worse is staff shortage means tbey lack good nursing care,poor hygiene and welfare.its so heartbreaking to see the elderly being given poor treatment in their old age.so its no point keeping the body alive when the person has lost the will to live.might as well euthanise the sick and elderly to save resources for the young and living.what Hitler termed as the final solution or collective suicide. i find in this pandemic the absurd meaningless existentialism of Kafkas the metamorphosis in which the protagonist transformed into a cockroach and is alienated from his loved ones who despise and fear him or IT.
