Nyonya cooking is yummy

l learnt a lot of nyonya recipes from my ex Penang nyonya colleague in Klang.she taught cookery to high school students n the smell of cooking wafted to our nose.she was a domestic goddess and generously shared her secret recipes.so i learnt to cook pickle vegetables achar sprinkled w sesame n ground peanuts,kerabu bok nee which is shredded chicken,black fungus,sliced raw shallots in a creamy coconut sambal sauce n pounded kerisik to give a kick today i cooked pie tee for teatime.i bought ready cooked pastry shells n cooked the filling of yam bean,carrot,french bean cooked with pounded dried prawns n pounded dry fried anchovy.this is the secret,dont use soya sauce or oyster sauce.garnish w chopped red chilli,coriander,shredded egg n deep fried shallots. the best tea time ive had altho im tired i have happy tummy.i also baked avocado tarts for breakfast as it rained heavily just now good to bake to get warm body.
