I got senior citizen discount on movie tickets at GSC cinema so went to see kingdom of storms.Fei Xiang is a good character actor completely selfish and power mad.reminds me of the character of King Lear n his 3 daughters.Fei Xiang is completely despicable as hes cold bolded n ruthless to manipulate his adopted sons like pawns in a chess game.it
pique my curiosity to read up on history of early chinese civilization,the shang dynasty n use of turtle shells for oracle divination.but the computer animation spoilt it as it was overdone n went overboard with glitzy graphics.the involvement of taoist immortals,na zha and black magic is all overhyped fantasy fiction and distracts from the theme of selfish despotic ruler.maybe part 2 should do better editimg to focus on the plot.i predict the new lord Xiyi will rise to be a benevolent ruler to challenge a resurrected Fei Xiang and his own son will be an immortal who will aid the lord Xiyi.i m just in suspense for sequel.
