Comfort on a stormy nite

there is a heavy thunderstorm raging outside with peals of thunder and flashes of lightning.for dinner i cook comfort food i saw an american chinese youtuber demonstrating the toishan flavoured rice.its not fried rice but braised rice.my grandparents from sayap in guangdong used to cook this with

h yam cubes. i follow my moms recipe of shitake mushroom,chicken cubes,chinese sausage,lap cheomg,dried prawns,soy sauce,rice wine.drank hot pu erh tea with it. thinking of mom and grandparents bring nostalgia.i like Li Bai thoughts on a tranquil nite. before my bed is a pool of light bendimg my head,i recall my hometown di tou xi gu xiang. the poem evokes universal feeling of loneliness being parted from loved ones.
