Buying lunar new year grocery early

Lucky i bought the cooking ingredients like mushrooms, dried seafood early to stock up.the prices have increased nearer new year.i bought dried oysters from Korea, shitake mushroom, dried scallops from China, honey mandarin and dried cordycep flowers n dried osmanthus from China.i cant afford expensive dried seafood from Japan.got mini canned abalone from Hong Kong as less than rm19 per can.bought scallops n sea cucumber from Sabah n shrimps from Kuala Selangor n fish from Pulau Ketam. Chinese would splurge on food, drinks n new cars but Malays splurge on new furniture, curtains n clothes n jewellery.the retail scene is doing a ROARING business to welcome a PAWSperous chinese new year.that is a sign economy is recovering.i managed to buy some birds nest and chinese tea leaves for my 80 year old grand aunt and went for a flea market red cheong sam with floral embroidery at rm 5.what a bargain pre used clothing can be.i suspected it was some brides wedding cheong sum but who cares.its red colour n auspicious n not picked from some dead person. saw the motivational quote on the lift.look on the bright side.im still muda at heart.ha ha
