Wesak

This Wesak is the first since the pandemic lockdown and the pent up desire of Malaysians to celebrate after the restrictions can be seen in the throngs of people who went to all the temples from thai chetawan temple to the maha vihara in kl.it was literally a sea and a mountain of people who
flocked to the food fair or do the buddhist rituals like bathing baby buddha.

I prefer to go to less crowded suburban temples which were less hectic and felt more serene.

Over  commercialization of religious occasion like Christmas and Wesak defeats the purpose of reflection and  the values of self restraint  but i guess the lockdown really forced people to miss the warmth and camaderie of socializing and being cut off from worldly affairs and be in seclusion is meant more for monks and mendicants and not ordinary lay people .
