Malay cuisine

Jun n I love spicy food.last nite i cooked Thai green curry chicken ,Jun bought lemang from the taman tun bazaar. He loves the glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk 8n bamboo tubes.the aroma is so fragrant as its cooked over a wood fire. He made special request for me to cook dry chicken curry or rendang as my chicken rendang is so authentic.my Malay colleagues at Sek Sri Istana were fantastic cooks.i bought tumeric leaves and keffir lime leaves to put in the curry.added kerisik or roasted dessicated coconut and used Lizars curry spices and wet paste.it should be cooked and simmered over a slow fire for hours till the paste is thick and dark brown.i also bought kuih koci wrapped in banana leaves its like eating mochi with grated coconut in palm sugar, the kuih is made of black glutinuos rice flourand oozes with a coconut cream.its a nicer sticky kuih than mochi as it has tropical vibes of banana leaf, coconut cream n grated coconut cooked with dark palm sugar.during the fasting month i get to buy all kinds of malay delicacy like kuih lopes and kuih sago and bingka ubi.how to lose weight when thete is so much good food.
