I grew up watching Shaw brothers movies and later Golden Harvest.Those were the heydays of Cantonese movies and entertainment.Songs of yesteryear by Sam Hui,Roman,Paula Tsui,Lisa Wang were so popular among overseas Chinese.The older Hong Kong singers from Anita Mui,Danny Chan,Leslie Cheung had golden voices and talent.Now the younger generation lacks that talent in singing and prefers to focus on dancing n slick moves but at the end of the day,its the song that matters
So to me Yoshiki is middle aged but his talent in composing is undeniable but Toshi has lost his
Powerful vocal chords and is a crooner now.his voice used to shake the concerts with vim and vigour but age is catching up on his voice.its Taka of One Ok rock that has potential to outshine him.
So the younger crop of Hong Kong singers need to brush up their vocal skills to match the older cantopop singers.
