When you expect the tech industry to self regulate,it will surely protect its self interest first . Has the legal system kept up with changes in power of tech to commit crimes like scams,deep fakes or crypto crimes ?So technology can undermine the regulatory power of nation states as it reaches beyond national borders to global influence.Look at how at his inaugration the president of a superpower is surrounded by tech giants who will control the source of polital power that shapes a nation state.Its not the peoples representatives who decides the fate of the grassroots but the technocrats. When the President of the Red state turns to the private sector to rejuvenate a slowing economy,he invites not the industralists or financiers but spotlights on the top technocrats of advanced tech firms for brainstorming on how their contributions can galvanise the economy.Directly or indirectly the technocracy will soom rule over every aspect previously determined by nation states.The history of the nation state is predicted to change in unimaginable ways.we are looking at a brave,new world.
