A broken twig

Out where there were towering trees,i picked up this fallen twig among the dried leaves covering the earth.

It suggested that while it once held together living pieces of green leaves, now its time has come when it lets go of the tree of life and is returned to the earth together with the brown dried up leaves strewn around it.

I picked it up to decorate the altar in my tokoyama and it breathes new life to the pot of twisted green lucky bamboo plants.the twigs go across the white round wooden mandala carving like the moon illuminating lord buddha as he sits meditating and the twig casts its shadow across the moon.so magical but how many can see the beauty in some rubbish Jun says im always picking up?beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

I laughed when the indian guy moving those heavy stones for my altar grumbled what la aunty youre praying to stones ,think im animistic to which i retorted youre also worshipping stone  shiva yoni and lingam.that really shut him up.ha ha
