Archaelogy

Archaeology is digging up the footprints left behind by our ancestors Malaysia has historical sites but instead of looking at sites linked to western colonialism like Penang,Melaka and Kuala Lumpur, why dont we acknowledge our historical links to the Arab traders in the Middle East, the Indian traders from India and the Chinese traders in East Asia.South East Asia was conveniently and strategically located in the Maritime time silk routes.tbe porcelain obtained from sunken Chinese junk testify to the trading of pottery to the West and Middle East when Arabic inscriptions are the pattern of blue porcelain ware exported by China. The food and spices from Indian traders influenced south east asian cutries as did the construction of Indian chedi found in Indonesia,Malaysia or lndo China.the Arab traders spread Islamic teachings to the people in Indonesia,Phillipines and Malaysia and the Indian traders left Buddhist monument
s in SEA as buddhist pilgrims from China made stopovers on their way to obtain holy texts of buddhism in indian monastery. So atchaelogical sites showcasing the Asian spice routes should be preserved and open as UNESCO tourist sites.Place all artifacts in a centralised museum like Singapores Asian civilization museum.Indo China nations show the dominance of indian culture from Angkor Wat to Thai culture.the only nation with Sinic influence is Vietnam. From the Chola kings to the Srivijaya influence in Indonesia, indic culture from Ramayana to stone temples carving show Indian cultural impact .Why is it that only in Vietnam we see Sino influence so could it be ancient people of southern China had migrated from the Vietnamese Yue kingdom and the cultural assimilation of Confucian ideas seen in Vietnam. Malaysia has commercial cultivation of 2 non native trees that helped us increase our exports. The palm tree originated from West Africa and the rubber tree from South America.so why dont we do tesearch n development to grow and export 2 valuable crops the saffron n madagascar vanilla bean.theyre like the gold of the culinary world.
