The threat of big C

In the past, the Big C refering to cancer caused patients to face unimaginable anxiety over imminent death.but with scientific research and lots of medical developments and interventions, cancer has better prognosis.

Now the threats from the new big C is climate change and covid.Climate change, global warming, unprecedented drought and floods cause widespread destruction and threatens lives and property and food production.it cannot be solved by a nation alone and needs global collaboration .just like the covid pandemic, controlling the spread of covid depends on strengthening global collaboraton whether through medical reseatch of vaccines and global lockdown of mass travel.

The two photos in the Star newspaper warns us to be prepared to deal with Changes whether in environment protection or protection of our immune system against the ravages of after effect of long Covid.

Can the authorities comduct public campaigns to educate us on how to react in an emetgency of being trapped in a car or at home in rising flood waters.maybe get childrens flotation devices to put in car n homes, easy to assrmble kayaks or big ice box with paddle, how to purify drinking water n stock on can food with camping stove.now if you see an old lady paddling frantically on a flooded road in a huge yellow rubber duck, guess you know im well prepared for the worst and hoping for the best

i empathize with sports journalist Revathi suffering from long Covid side effect.not much is known of this emerging disease and the havoc it wrecks on our body.my two bouts of covid infection led me to drastic weight loss, diarrhoea n gastro intestinal problems and the second infection with chronic fatigue, mystetious cramps on my leg and muscle weakness after 2 hour workouts.it may take a long time to restore equilibrium in bodily functions but im doing my best to eat well so i can live well.its so frustrating to see a lapse in fitness levels .but time will heal our bodies.
