Great weekend

i am having a good and fun weekend.went early in the morning to go caving in Batu Caves.got a great workout climbing and h
ad a fantastic breakfast of masala thosai and iced cold masala chai.then drove to Amcorp Mall flea market to browse.wanted to get an out of print art book that was hard cover but seller charged rm 90 which was way out of my budget.the art of Asia had great prints of paintings n sculptures.but i was lucky when i went bargain hunting.my favourite vintage shop where i bought my carved antique side cupboards had a lovely vintage porcelain fruit bowl i got at bargain price.then i saw something nostalgic a Malay seller was selling ,an exquisite antique carved tobacco pipe like what my late grandma used to smoke with.it was in shape of filigree peacock.i bargained it down to rm50 and then a beautiful cast iron vintage candelabra from England caught my eye.i negotiated for a long time before seller gave me my best price.so instead of a hard cover book,i bought 2 historical items, one a pipe and the other a candelabra with the tree branches, leaves n birds on it that i intend to use as a flower stand for my succulent plants.im so happy as a lark this Sunday with my three vintage bargains.i love pre loved items that have a sense of history and nostalgia.another place for flea markets are those in France street markets n what Johannesburg offers when Janse Van Vuuren hunted for vintage lamps.im still hunting for a vintage mirror.
